Introduction

We acquired our first German Shorthaired Pointer in 1984 as a family dog and for hunting. We soon realized that with appopriate traning, he could be a very versatile hunting dog. He performs equally well in the woods and wetlands. His ability to retrieve is natural. To search and retrieve wounded game by tracking is pure fun for these dogs. This is an energetic dog that is well behaved in the house but requires consistent and firm training. As for his hunting training, we recommend an approach consistent with NAVHDA's philosophy.

Our family kennel is now twelve years old. We select our dams and sires for their natural hunting qualities, their affinity for water, their temperament, their cooperation, their desire to work and all this, without any compromise on conformation and coat. Our breeding is based on an excellent lineage: Stradivarius and Hege-Haus.

The German Shorthaired Pointer has the ability to perform in all conditions. We hope, with our breeding, to preserve the characteristic traits of this breed for the greatest pleasure of those of us who use this marvelous and versatile pointing dog.
